i've been spending a lot of idle time lately youtubing footage of people barbecuing meat. sometimes, music videos just don't pack the kind of soul-satisfying zip i need to sustain me through the day.

anyways, i thought the one posted above was interesting.

observations:

1) if you listen carefully enough, it becomes pretty obvious that whoever wrote that first accompanying theme really liked himself some 'day tripper'.

2) the bbq sauce of choice here is kraft. out of all the big brand name sauces out there, kraft's is one of the most blatantly mediocre.

3 the narrator's voice sounds like a complete affectation. some words and phrases this guy probably did his best to keep in the back of his mind during filming: 'texas,' 'bold,' 'grease-stained,' 't-bone steak,' 'big,' 'dust,' 'smoke,' 'strong black coffee,' 'cowboy' and 'sam elliott's wizened-but-durable seer/drifter through time.'

in fact, i think i may have found the culprit in action and on camera just a few clicks away:
