wow, this is no joke

apparently, "bob ross: the joy of painting" is a game we can look forward to playing on nintendo's upcoming wii system.

i (genuinely) have fond memories of chancing upon his program on channel 2 as a lad. something about watching someone paint is soothing in the same way as watching someone cook ... perhaps it's witnessing something come into being? anyhow, i always found solace in those verdant landscapes married to azure skies dotted with happy clouds.

i also think it's funny that bob's hairstyle had the shape of a happy cloud.

in other news, there is no way in hell i'm not getting a wii.

As a kid, I used to get up at 5 a.m. just to watch him paint. Watching something come into being can be relaxing and vicariously satisfying. For me, watching someone else play a video game elicits similar feelings. This game is made for me (to watch other people play)!
