i really like the brand new heavies.i only own their self-titled album,which i picked up maybe a year, couple years ago. until a minute ago, i'd only listened to it at the office, with volume set low enough for it to melt into hub-bub, detectable only by ears pricked looking for it. this was before i discovered headphones, in case you're wondering.
but wow, listening to it at home right now, with volume set to a truly audible level, i'm really impressed by how consistently awesome the guitar playing is. not mention how well the instrumentation in general creates these ridiculously beautiful textures that swing so perfectly.

man, i need to check your blog more often. Brand New Heavies was like my Nirvana. Well, not really. But they made me feel good about being young, Black, and single. Always perpetually single. Sigh.
