i kind of hope they throw the runaway bride in jail.
it's a weak story that has, at best, the feeble makings of drama you'd expect from the worst lifetime network movie. wow, woman bails on her wedding by faking her own abduction and sexual assault. big deal. no one got hurt, jennifer wilbanks will get a light slap on the wrist for lying to the authorities, given her motives, and that's about that ... time to move on. even worse is that, at its core, the story presents a modern human interest angle that never goes anywhere beyond the numbingly self-evident: weddings create lots and lots of pressure.when you come down to it, i guess i'm just sick of seeing her bug-eyed mug. but it would be a futile (and entirely pompous, and redundant, now that everyone is an expert on ultra-conservative/ultra-liberal media) undertaking to generalize and take the american press as a whole to task for milking the story to the extreme.
so, i guess i have to blame her. the next time i see jennifer wilbanks, i hope she's being played by tiffani-amber thiessen, acting opposite tim matheson.

What gets me is that Jennifer Wilbanks's case is very similar to what Audrey Seiler did last year, give or take an extravagant wedding registry or three. They even look alike!
But Audrey Seiler can't say that she has a doll created in her honor. Perhaps the profits from said doll can go toward her legal fund?
Hey, this is a great blog. How come it took me so long to find out about it?

tori -- well, that action figure definitely gets the eyes right ... it's the only toy i've ever seen that looks like it could use about 20 injections of horse tranquilizer.
mr. vodka -- much obliged for the kind words.
