more news at eleven?
about 5 beers deep here and happy to report that some recording did indeed go down last night. by the time we made it to scott's home studio, an old friend and unexpected guest named mikhail (bundles, a hard-hitting drummer and great all-around musician who has an equal love for punk and hip-hop) had laid down a pretty fierce drum beat and cool bass groove for a track that tom will be adding some dope vocals to soon. had about 10-15 minutes to learn the song and play along with the groove, as the session was winding down when we arrived, then did one take where i played simple chords to back the chorus and sort of stumbled on a pretty arpeggiated line for the verse about halfway through the recording. scott took a good chunk of that verse and looped it, then basically kept the chorus as is for the rough cut. waiting for tom to throw his vox down, 'cause he's got a cool melody going and some great rhymes to boot, then i'll probably post the track (and maybe more) on a myspace profile or something. pretty damn happy with how it sounds so far.might have more to say later tonight, depending on what happens here in williamsburg.
