you have to learn to crawl on skinned knees before you can nail that 180 kickflip
let me say that i have nothing against skateboarding or people who skateboard in general. i was obsessed with the tony hawk series back in college, and i used to watch with genuine awe all these home videos from friends of kids hitting whacky railslides and launching themselves over suicidal gaps. but you know those skateboarders that take over a little slice of very public space, as opposed to choosing a slightly lesser-traveled stretch of land, like maybe a park or a side street? you know, the type that seem to go out of their way to get in yours, even if you're minding your own business? yeah, uh, have you ever in you life seen them actually complete a trick? think about it ... you don't even have to be watching them - in fact, i think i've probably heard more botched trick attempts than i've actually seen. just listen for the wheels grinding on gravel, then the sudden silence as they go airborne, and then the clunk and clatter as the board hits the ground. have you ever heard any of these types complete a trick? think about it .....yeah, didn't think so.
