for those about to rock

game time

got a fresh link sandwiched in between the old ones over on my sidebar: 8bitreview.

the site's still in the nascent stage, and i think its format may go through some changes as it gets bigger, but basically, it's a videogame-oriented site that culls tasty/offbeat game news, hosts forums for users to use to schmooze and reviews games new and old (and given the wii's virtual console function as well as the ridiculous abundance of hand-me-down games and systems available through ebay, freecycle and the like, it's in this latter regard that 8bit is likely to usefully distinguish itself from other sites of its ilk).

my friend tim, who's a talented writer and a learned gamer scholar, has posted a bunch of quality content on the site (and being mr. modesty, i almost hope he doesn't read this, because he'll do his best to contradict me), and i'm hoping to help out with some game write-ups as well.

give it a click, drop by the boards, stay awhile.
